Description:
Monte bajo captures the wild, untamed beauty of Spain’s arid inland plains — a sun-scorched landscape of dry brush and ancient rock that speaks to Guirado’s deep emotional connection with his native Andalucía. Painted in 2008, this later work returns to his early plein-air roots while evoking a sense of stillness, solitude, and timeless observation. A soulful reflection of land and memory.

Part of Guirado’s “Landscapes of the Soul” series — a quieter counterpoint to his Intrarealist vision — this painting reveals the artist’s mastery of light and texture in natural settings, executed with an impasto-rich surface that rewards close viewing.
