Part of a rare series inspired by the caves of Nerja in southern Spain, Puertas del cielo presents a powerful vision of refuge, transformation, and human survival.

The composition suggests figures inhabiting a subterranean world — a symbolic retreat from environmental or existential collapse above ground. The work carries a strong narrative presence while remaining rooted in abstraction.

Exhibited in Re Birth – The Third Eye (Fundación PONS, Madrid, 2015), it stands as one of the most conceptually compelling works within the estate.

Both atmospheric and symbolic, it speaks directly to contemporary anxieties around climate, displacement, and the future of human habitation.
